Visions / First Songs Ever?

No posts for a while - holiday festivities...you know
Album progress: I wish I would wake up and it'd be done. But I have 3 or 4 more songs to do before I go back to school. The creative/songwriting process is the best, but the recording process is so arduous ughh.
I finished the introduction - I love making those because it really sets the tone for the rest of the album. It's sorta turning into a concept album, but that was the goal all along and now I'm beginning to see everything pan out.
Every song has a vision, but the difficult part is just getting that out in the recording.

These next couple tracks were recorded on a 4-track wayyyy back in like 7th grade. Crazy right?

These dreams be wakin me up at night...

Another sleepless night, I swear I'm becoming an insomniac. and it sucks.

Worked on drums today and fell asleep at odd hours. This song still needs something that I can't quite figure out yet.
I wish I could wake up one day and find this album perfectly recorded and mixed.

The concept of the album is beginning to flesh out and I'm thinking of what to samples to put in the intro. It's about how music doesn't touch us anymore like it used to. Like this whole corporate takeover is destroying the soul we once knew. I feel like the democratization of music/internet/blogs is destroying the old paradigm and we're really seeing something new and amazing emerge. It's good to stay positive!

To sum it up in a sentence by the Smiths:

this band is ill. I hated the song Norway when I first heard, but I couldn't stop listening to it after.... Interesting how music can grow on someone. There are a lot of things that I don't like on first listen, but give it a second take or two.



I remember I hated OK Computer when my friend showed it to me...lol..
